Weekly photo challenge : Hands

My daddy had a stoke at 56 just over two years ago. He was in a coma for a very long time and actually had to have part of his skull removed in order to give his brain room to expand. This picture was taken when he was just coming out of his coma. He wasn’t talking or opening his eyes but I asked him to squeeze my hand and he did. I still can’t look at the picture without it giving me a lump in my throat. I hope you appreciate it as much as I love it.

  4. I’m glad you led me to your page. It is similar to mine and the feelings are no less evident. The picture of my Great-grandmom and I, was also the result of a stroke.

I am glad your Dad made it, and that you took the picture. Sometimes things like this are good to have to remind us what we have and later, how affected we are by things we don’t have anymore.

    • At the time I wasn’t sure if I should have taken it because it was such a precious moment but I am so thankful now that I did. I look at life so differently now, I appreciate everything so much more and realize how precious life is. Thank you for sharing your picture, I know exactly how you felt at that moment. The world stopped and it was just about you and her just like it was with me and daddy.
